Vigil for Steve Salinas
Six Months and Still No Answers

On November 27, 2007, six months after Steve Salinas was Tased to death by the San Jose Police Department, family and community members, a group around 75 people, held a candlelight vigil in front of City Hall. The message was to remember the life of Steve Salinas, and to demand answers from the police department. Despite several attempts, the police department still refuses to give the family the police reports around the suspicious death of Steve Salinas. Steve Salinas was unarmed when was tased to death in his motel room on May 25th, 2007.

City Hall security try to shut down the activities of the vigil. Community members defend their rights, and the security backs down.

Family and community members stand together to fight for justice in San Jose.


Community members supporting the Salinas family also speak up against unjustices happening in the jail and court system.
