Many people today are looking for ways to relax or release stress. When we are hurt or injured we look for other ways to heal ourselves. Many people look toward holistic healing. We asked women at the work furlough what else besides western medicine do you use to heal yourself.
A Cup Of Coffee Can Work Wonders For Me

A lot of people deal with healing differently depending on the situation. For me healing might take a little longer because I am emotional. Especially these last few years. If I sit and think about whatever the situation is and think positive about the why, how and when it is going to be over. I think about what I am going to do to change it for the better, it lets my mind forget about the negative and think positive. This all helps me instead of feeling sorry for myself.
Listening to music also helps me forget problems and it makes me happy. Just drinking a nice hot cup of coffee calms me down, too. Since I am such a coffee freak I consider it my comfort food. Another way is meditation. I just got into meditation and have been reading how powerful the mind is, how it is important to cleanse your body from all the negative stuff in this world and let your body be calm and still from this life.
My Healing Process Consists Of a Lot Of Relaxation

Healing is a beautiful part of life and can be painful at times. One has to give themself time and thought to start healing. Time heals everything and if one thinks positive it can help you come out of a situation. As for pain such as headaches, backaches, etc, I try to go without any medication as long as I can. Other helpful things I do is relax my body, close my eyes and rest. If I have a backache I stretch and just try to relax myself and think good relaxing thoughts so that I don't feel the pain as much. I believe that if I am caught up in thinking about the pain, it only makes it worse. Some hot tea helps me relax and take the edge off of pain for me, too. As far as healing pain such as heartache form friendship/relationships, talking about it with someone close is part of my healing process. Talking is another way to get rid of frustration, it helps heal the pain and it helps me get my thoughts together.
