Silence the Violence Day

On June 1, 2006, communities throughout the Bay Area joined to ÒSilence the Violence.Ó In San Francisco, Let's Get Free and the United Playaz with the help of KMEL radio station, organized a vigil in the South of Market Area (SOMA) where members of the community came together to recognize that violence continues to plague their neighborhoods.   Seven neighborhoods and over a thousand people joined in solidarity to recognize and fight against violence.   These pictures were taken at the vigil in the SOMA district between 6 th Street and Natoma Street.

this is beautiful thank you so much for documenting such and important day....me rudy and nicole came up with the idea and it spread like wildfire..started with 4 and turned into 21 vigils across
the bay area!!!!!
