"We Never Thought Calling 911 Would Take His Life"
An interview with the family of Samuel Martinez, recently killed by the San Jose Police
Radio Segment by Hector Gonzalez
4 MB's // 10 minutes
Samuel Martinez was shot and killed by the San Jose Police Department this past May. Samuel's family has been pushing the district attorney's office for an open grand jury hearing. In the past weeks the family has marched, held vigils, and are collaborating with other families in the area who have lost a loved one due to police shootings.   A few of the family members sat down with Block to Block radio in studio for our weekly radio show on 91.5 KKUP to discuss the tragedy and the issue of police brutality in our communities. The emotionally charged show sparked callers to share their story on the air as well.
