Even Gangstas Get Sick

As I stepped out of the dark theater room, I held my boyfriend Geo's hand on our way out. We met up with Alex, Adriana, Yolanda and decided to hit up McDonalds and then go home later. We walked down some block where McDonald's was. It wasn't too far from the theaters.

As we walked Geo asked me what if he ends up getting in a fight tonight? I told him that I would probably get really upset at him. He said, "Ma don't trip now coz I'll neva fight in front of you. I ain't takin the risk of disrespectin you, but if someone disrespects you in front of me, then it'll be all bad fo em niggas." I laughed and said,"awww baby." It was kind off weird walking because it's as if there are signs that were telling me something. We seen a tree fall down and crashed a car. I knew deep inside that something's about to happen. I was frightened for a minute, thinking, what if Geo get's in a fight? Well, I tried to ignore it until I didn't have to feel scared anymore, but I still had my worries. 
  
We were almost near McDonalds. We just had to cross the street. Alex said that that he lost his wallet when we left the movies. I was this as another sign of trouble. We had to walk back to the movie theaters. We looked around. Then Yolanda yelled out, "Hey Alex, I think I found your wallet!!" Alex said, where is it at?""Ummmn uhh uhh...."Yolanda said. "Well were is it chick????tell me!!"Alex said, very angry. "Okay, okay, it's in my rear pocket. You told me to hold on to it until we get to McDonalds; SORRY!! I just forgot," she said very guiltily. I could tell that she was about to cry. Her eyes looked like hills tha just had a landslide and flood was going to start rushing down. "Hey Yolly, don't trip ma, at least he didn't loose it for good!! RIGHT ALEX!" I said with my right eyebrow up as if I was mugging him. "Yeah fosho don't trip."said Alex. He gave her a hug and made it all better. So we walked back to McDonalds. Geo held my hands when we crossed the street. Alex opened the door for everybody. He said, "My treat my homies!" "How much you got brotha?" Geo asked. "Well ummn, I only got fifteen bucks left, but hey nobody said anything about not get the burgers from the dollar menu!" Alex replied. "Yeah that's right bro, but hey, I don't feel like eating burger's. I want a Ceasar salad. I'll pay for mine. Just get me a soda." I said. I gave him my money and he went to the line and ordered for everybody and Yolanda went with him. They looked cute together. I always wondered if they liked each other. They both reminded me of Geo and I. 

Geo and I went to go sit down on our table. Adriana went and sat behind us. Geo told me that he's going to the restroom. Adriana was waiting for Geo to go to the bathroom. When Geo went inside, Adriana came rushing to where Geo sat. She was all up in my face, asking me a lot of questions. I think that it was pretty funny how she wanted to know how Geo and I got back together. "So, Cherriez how ya'll got back togetha?" she asked. "Well, as you know, that's my boo so you can leave now!" I answered. "Aww, how cute,whooooho," she teased. She kept on looking back and fourth at the bathroom. Geo finally came out of the restroom and Adriana left. As soon as he came out, Alex called us to fill up our own sodas. I told Geo to fill up my cup for me and then I went back to where we were sitting. Some mixed looking guy followed me. When I sat down, he sat down where Geo was sitting. "Hey cutie wassup?" he asked. "Oh hey!" I said back. "Ummn you got a man lil mama?" he asked again. "Yeah, that sexy man right there being a gentleman and getting me my soda, and oh yeah I don't cheat," I said to him with a smile. He looked at Geo and raised his eyebrows. You can actually tell that he already didn't like Geo. "Yeah, you like messin around with em weak ass niggas huh?" he said. Geo finally seen him and rushed to where he sat. "Hey baby wats this all about?" he asked. "Oh, nothin baby. His about to leave me alone now." Geo looked at him and said, "Yeah nigga leave befo you get smashed!" We ate our meals as soon as that low life pervert left. We started eating, and had a conversation about school.  I told Geo that I am going to join the basketball team. He said he is too. So it made it all better for me.  
   
We finished eating our meals. Geo took my trash and threw it away. I thought it was really sweet for him to do that. I thought, "Now I know why I love him." When we all got up, we saw three guys walking towards Geo. I just remembered that all the signs that I seen were true. The biggest guy came up to Geo and said, "Aye nigga I heard you be tryin to have funk with ma nigga here?" he asked. Geo did not back away. "Yeah nigga what if I did?" When Geo said that, my heart started pounding harder and faster. It felt like if someone socked my left side of my chest. I couldn't talk, I couldn't breathe, and my vision started to blur. My legs felt so weak. Next thing I know, I was down on the floor.

I thought that I was just scared to death, but when they took me to the hospital then, I knew that I had asthma attack. I couldn't really remember what had happened that time. All I remembered was waking up at the hospital. The room was packed with silence and sadness. I felt like Snow White. The room was so bright that I couldn't really open my eyes. I felt this sting on my right arm. So I forced myself to open my eyes to look at what was on my right arm. There, I saw an IV and the fluids dripping from the tube. I stared at the drip and drip and drip. I wondered if I was that weak. Do I really need this much of fluid or chemicals to keep me alive? And why was I born with asthma? I couldn't think anymore. I was too hurt to think. 

I moved my hands while everyone was asleep, but they all woke up when I moved. My mom, dad, sister, brother, Geo, Adriana, Yolanda, Alex, and Patricia, Alex's mom, were all there. Geo stared at me with a kind caring look. It's as if I was looking at an angel. I was glad everybody was there. Everybody told me to feel better and stuff. My mom told me to press the button to call the nurse. The nurse came inside and gave me my an inhailer. She told me that I need to inhale this everytime my heart starts beating heavy. I am glad I did not die that night. Thanks to all of my friends, they saved my life.
