It would have been amusing if it was not patently absurd: President Bush playing up to the Elvis fetish of Japanese President Koizumi, and according Koizumi a full State welcome and dinner. This after the US and President Bush in particular snubbed the Chinese Premier Hu Jintao, refusing to accord him a full State visit and in a very juvenile manner, refusing to accord the Chinese leader a State dinner and accorded him a casual brunch instead. When will “W” ever get it right? China is no longer just “in”; it is the 8000 pound gorilla in our sitting room. Japan is not just passé; it has been a has-been for a while.

The very day that Bush was whiling his time in Graceland, playing up to the Elvis fetish of a country leader on his way out, Israel has roiled the waters of the Middle-East as never before, setting a tinder box aflame. Bush was nonplussed and gave a repeat performance of his “My pet goat" performance when 9/11 occurred, being absolutely oblivious of Israel's misdeeds and the fact that Israel's intransigence would most likely set the entire Middle East aflame very soon.

The US Supreme Court gave Bush the reprimand he had coming for a long while. Since 9/11 W and his coterie of hawks have rendered the civil liberties of residents of the US hostage to the mantra of national security. His obsession of national security has not just put the liberties of US residents at peril but also those of the residents of the rest of the world. No person is beyond the realm of the US hawks, as the NSA, CIA and FBI rummage through telephone records, e-mails and bank accounts of ALL, hoping to come up with a smidgen of evidence that could be used to justify prolonging unjustified suspension of people's liberties, civil rights and freedoms, just as the US goes about on a rampage around the world, ironically trying to restore people's liberties, civil rights and granting them “freedom.” This entire charade would be a hilarious farce, if its consequences would not have been so very tragic and criminal. It is during moments such as this (rather extended period such as the current dark or Middle ages that the US is being subjected to), that one understands the rationale behind the US refusing to sign the ICC accord (International Criminal Court ). If the US had been a signatory to the ICC, some of the very first criminals who would have been hauled up before the ICC would have been Henry Kissinger, Rumsfeld, Bush and his coterie.

The Democrats have been rendered impotent by the Republicans defining them as being weak on security and national defense. This has resulted in the Democrat leadership coming up with a plethora of Iraq policies, ranging from lets get the hell out right now to lets not do anything, until the 2006 elections are over and before you know, it is the 2008 Presidential campaign and the Democrats would be loath to seem to appear to be weak on defense and would emasculate themselves all over once again. Once you get castrated, it is difficult to do it again!!

When in the US, one feels terribly under-privileged if you are not blond hair and blue eyed. But once you travel outside the US, one feels relieved that one is blond haired and blue eyed. Once you are outside the US, no one wants to kidnap you or hurt you if you do not fit the racial profile of the typical American. It is the imperialist policies of the Bush administration that have made the lives of the average American unsafe both in the US and outside when they travel on business or as a tourist. If this is not ethnic cleansing, what is? The US is keeping immigrants from countries which “do not reflect the natural stock of this country." These were the very words of our very own Democrat leader Senator Edward Kennedy, who defended and justified over 50 % of the Nationals who were eligible to participate in the Green Card lottery as being Irish. He said in defense, “We need to help maintain the natural stock of this country”. The natural stock of this country Senator Kennedy is not Irish but descendents of Chief Sitting Bull!!
