Immigrant Students Fast for DREAM Act
Photos by G. Melesaine// Video by Alex Gutierrez

From July 2nd-July 9th, immigrant youth from San Jose joined students from across California in a fast for the passage of the Dream Act.  The DREAM Act is a federal bill that is currently pending in congress that would provide legal residency and a path towards citizenship for immigrant students. Also, the DREAM Act advocates equal access to higher education, regardless of immigration status. Students and supporters held candlelight vigils as well as they made their presence felt at the San Jose City Hall.

Students held a mock graduation to share the untapped potential of thousands of immigrant youth who were unable to follow a college education.

The graduating class also has questions.

Making history though sacrifice.

The Conservatives do not conserve the enviroment, they conserve power, money, and influence with those who already have it. These Conservatives say we want open-border anarchy. Since this state of
California -- San Diego, Los Angeles, Monterey, Santa Cruz, Los Gatos, San Jose, Cupertino, Santa Clara, Los Altos, San Francisco, and all the others, Spanish-named, are Mexico, we do want open-border anarchy. This is stolen land, and if they won't give it back, the least they can do is give the native inhabitants rights. This is the intellectual jihad. Peace.
