Second Annual Silence the Violence Day
Photo Essay by Abraham Menor

On June 14, 2007 at the second annual Silence the Violence, communities throughout the Bay Area united to remember those who were victims to violence. In San Francisco, the United Playaz marched from 6th Street and Natoma Street to Boeddeker Park in the Tenderloin District. At Boeddeker Park, members of the community listened to guest speakers, shared stories of people they knew who were affected by violence, and presented solutions on how the community can unite to promote peace and encourage change. People even sang along with of San Francisco's own Hip Hop artist, Rappin 4Tay. These pictures were taken during the vigil at Boeddeker Park.
