Happy Women's International Day

Last week was International Women's Day being that women's day is celebrated throughout the world, we wanted to know from the women at the workfurlough what accomplishments they are most proud of in their lives or in the lives of others.

Women’s Day should make every women look at themselves and also celebrate how strong we are. We should also praise the women who have kids, who have lost kids or who take care of kids who have had very troubled lives. -- Irish

My accomplishments are having this experience in Elmwood and at the women’s work furlough program learning about co-dependence and about doing for myself first. Getting to know myself first here because I always do for others instead of myself. I admire my teacher Carolyn Robinson and some of the ladies I met here at the work furlough. They are smart and intelligent. We have all just made bad choices and some of us have lost cars, places and children. We realize that we have to start over making good and positive decisions. -- Sonia

I think we should celebrate Women's Day by having the day off and relaxing. The woman I admire is my cousin, she’s a teacher at James Lick high school. Seeing her doing something with her life and supporting me, makes me glad that I got to grow up with her.  – Christina
