Just There
Poetry By Thomas Williams// Artwork by Thuy Ngo

YouÕre just there
Just another object for someone to look at
To talk to when theyÕre bored
YouÕre just there
A feeling of need from everyone
But want not coming from yourself
Just there as a witness
To the world passing by
The pain, love, remorse
YouÕre just there
For no apparent reason
Not to you
Not to anyone
A scream inside you
From all the stuff going on inside
The recurring question
ÒWhy donÕt you just move?
I canÕt
IÕm trapped
By my surroundings
Just there too long now
Not knowing what to do
YouÕre there as a body without a soul
YouÕre bodyÕs there
As your mind wonders
What if I was
Over there?
