Live in Peace
East Palo Alto Marches to Stop the Violence
Audio by G. Melesaine // Photos by Charisse Domingo
East Palo Alto has had over 20 shootings and six homicides in the past six weeks. Community members from the diverse city came together on February 3rd to march for peace. De-Bug writer, and Block to Block radio correspondent, G. Melesaine walked with the people, both youth and elders, and interviewing them on their thoughts on EPA, and what is needed to stop the violence. Charisse Domingo, a De-Bug photographer, and community organizer with Youth United for Community Action, was there to capture the images of the day.

Dear De-Bug,

Wow! Thank you for coming out and supporting the Feb. 3, EPA "Live in Peace" March & Rally. I am enjoying the pictures and the audio on this site. We were thrilled with the community response and plan to continue the momentum

EPA Peace & Unity is currently working together with our one partners, OEPA for an upcoming Youth Summit, March 10, 2007. We are reaching out and hoping to pull in 500 youths, (14 - 24 yrs). Please
join us!

You may also note, we are currently working on several projects with our partners to create a much more healthier and safer community.

Thanks again for your support. Love and admire the work that you do.

Have a great day.

Marina
