A Dreamer's Kiss II
Poem and art by Thuy Ngo

You came to me with sweet words
A gentle touch that lingers in twilight
While I, an unsuspecting dreamer, sleep
I dream of soft kisses and gentle caresses
You fill those dreams with your
I love you and rendezvous
Only that we meet for a split second
In time and space
Where you and I collide into an us
Where what is a dream is no longer so just a dream
But I feel, smell, and taste you
As I come and lay there holding you close
Only to find myself awake and alone
You are gone and I am here
You are beautiful and I was dreaming
You are a mystery and I will never be able to solve
You are a moment and I will cherish you forever
A waking moment that you are not here
I know that I will never again
Be in your presence the same
But once more to this factious love
Once more to this phantom lust
I thank you for reminding me
You will never be mine
