Is it Really Hillary's Time?
A 33-year-old Persian Clinton Loving Woman Wonders
Story by Persia

Before I get into this, there are a couple of things that you should know about me. I am a Middle Eastern (Persian) woman. I am 33-years-old. I love the Clintons

Ok, now that I got that out the way lets get started. Knowing the above you would assume correctly that I am completely all for the rights and voices of women everywhere. There is nothing I would like more than to see the first woman President in the United States, especially Hillary. I think she would do a great job, but the state of the world today is making me very nervous about what that could mean.

We are finally getting rid of Bush. OMG, I thought this day would NEVER come. Seemed to take a life time for us to be here. Since he took office we have been just steps from World War 3. I watch the news and being a Middle Eastern woman myself I would cringe at some of the statements that he would make because although it didn't seem that harsh to us, to a Middle Eastern person it would be very disrespectful.

The Middle Eastern countries are very proud people. They are willing to die for their cause and yes they are lead by MEN. These men are honorable in their own right and in their own culture they do believe they are respecting their women. Now it may not seem that way to the women there or the women here, but that doesn't matter either way. Bottom line is that women in those regions are fighting for a voice. Many women do not want to cover themselves up, but they have to or there are harsh penalties. Many want to cover themselves because they believe it is the right thing to do. It is a tug of war of beliefs down there and those that are going against the ÒlawÓ are not strong enough in number. I mean there would have to be this HUGE revolution for things to change.

You don't have to be a scholar to look into the faces of the men that are running these countries to see that they are not the type of men who take orders from women. I'm just saying, let's be real about it. Given the mind state of these countries and where they think a woman's place is (beside or in most cases BEHIND her man, for her protection and respect of course) do you really think that it is a good idea to have a blonde haired blue eyed woman as our President? Before you start hollering woman's rights and the struggle that we are trying to overcomeÉ.do you REALLY want to force this upon these men in power right now?

Now if it had been Bill Clinton, then Hillary Clinton as President I may not feel as strongly, but even then it might have been a risk. But we are talking coming into office AFTER BUSH? After all the things Bush has done, it's a terrible idea. We are so deep in chaos and hatred of America through the eyes of the Middle East that it would be like slapping them again.

I'm an emcee and yesterday on Myspace I hit up this dude that I haven't seen since I was 16-years-old. He is also an emcee. Not a very good oneÉlol. I know I'm being a little cocky, but I said hello and told him if he ever needed a tight female emcee on a track, holler. I charge at the minimum 150.00 a track. Check out his response. I'll just copy and paste it for you..

YEP YEP!!! ILL LET MY NIGGAZ KNOW IF THEY NEED A FEMALE
TO HOLLA!!! BUT YOU KNOW HOW IT IS NIGGAZ AINT TRYIN TO BREAK
BREAD FOR NO FEMALE LOL!!! BUT I GOT YOU ILL LET FOOLS KNOW!!!

Ok, now this is here in the UNITED STATES. Here where we have fought for women's' rights, where there are great female artists in abundance. Underground or mainstream. I am a tight female emcee, one of the tightest in the Bay. I can say that now because I've been doing this for 20 years. My songs are on my myspace, check em out, they are tight, there is no denying it (myspace.com/mspersia) Yet this is the response from the male egos that I still get.

Now do you really think it is time for a female President to negotiate and give orders to Middle Eastern men in power right now? Really think about it logically. I haven't even brought up China or Japan. Take yourself out of being a woman, your race, or your struggle and really look at it. We have to clean up the mess that Bush did. We have to gain respect from the countries out there and make them take us seriously and I hate to say it but a woman will not do it right now.

On the other hand Oboma just may. As much as it's time for a woman President, it's also time for a president of color. Other than the fact that he is just a good candidate for the position when I think about how he carries himself with his beliefs and politics, a person of color would be the best bet right now. We are dealing with other men of color, men that only want to Òwheel and dealÓ with other men. PERIOD. We have to take this seriously. We have to be rational about it.
