Tased for Being With a White Woman

When Benny Love was tased and arrested in 2007, he was unarmed, under no influence, and was was complying with the officer. He tells a tale of being unjustifiably tased repeatedly, once in the neck. He was originally given five charges, and after serving five months in jail, all charges were dropped. When he asked his public defender why he was given all these charges, she replied, "You shouldn't have been with that white woman," referring to the friend he was with when he was arrested.
